Here's some information about how I animated Bancy in clay for Toy House & Baby Too! It was an interesting project, where I collaborated with the art director of the advertising agency, who did the actual character design, based on my suggestions for an "armature", i.e. a skeleton for the model.

Setup in the studio

Here you can see the entire setup I used for the shooting of the clay animation: The lighting consists of three 800 Sylvania Light Bulb plus a  spot lamp, an assorted Background board behind Bancy.

The camera is a Canon Digital Video Camcorder that I plugged it on monitor for. you can see a video camera. It is connected to the Windows XP workstation you see to the right. With the aid of the Trick Film  I was able to record the animation simultaneously into the computer and onto 35 mm film. This enabled me to check the work in progress, in perfect sync with the soundtrack!

Many beaks

Here's that I Had 3 Clay Animation Commercials:

1. Toy House & Baby Too!

2. Mid-Michigan's Frosty Boy

3. Huckleberry Junction Playhouse Theatre

Working...

Here I am, working on the animation, frame by frame. I did this work alone, only had help with the setup of the background and the lights.

You can see the final animation of one of the Commercials on the "Video Archive" page.
